All of the above …Easy to clean… especially fingerprints.

This is the perfect can for garbage and recycling. It is compact and fits into my kitchen space perfectly. I also like the sleekness of the stainless steel as it matches the rest of my appliances.
The real bonus is my lab cannot push up on the lid to pull out the trash as the lid is flush with the top. The foot release for the lid also solves this problem.

This can works very well. Many pros&cons. Pros: looks very nice and neat. The lid functions well. Garbage capacity will holds a weeks amount of garbage for household of 2 plus 1 dog. Recycle receptacle must be emptied every 2or3 days. The 2 receptacles pull out easily. The lid closes tightly, alleviates all garbage odor. Cons: Takes a few tries to “seat” inserts properly, so lid closes. Garbage bags slide up when placing into can. The plastic bin itself, is extremely brittle, accidentally bumped/dropped the black bin, and corner of bin fractured off. Cannot find a replacement. No number for support.

It's frustrating to find that, despite the right size and shape, it's nearly impossible to get a bag to sit snugly without compromising the closure of the lid or risking the bag slipping inside. This oversight is a significant inconvenience for an otherwise promising product.

In order to make this trash can truly functional, the manufacturer needs to address this bagging issue. Once that's resolved, the Simple-Magic dual compartment recycling trash can will undoubtedly be a top contender in the world of recycling bins. Until then, it falls just short of its potential.

I love this product! I keep purchasing different trash bins because my curious 18-month-old can open all the others. This one is a winner. It has the perfect size; it forces me to take out the trash every day, helps me keep all the recycling intact, and my toddler can’t open it, which is exactly why I bought it.

I couldn't believe how much I paid for a garbage can, but it's ended up being exactly what we needed. There's not a thing I've come across that bothers me yet. It stays put, doesn't slide on hard flooring. The lids open easily, and aren't very noisy when they close. Doesn't seem to fingerprint too badly. The removable containers have a hole near the top of each so you can anchor your garbage bag. Keeps in smell pretty decent. I haven't tried to change or re-order the charcoal filters yet, but they do stick a QR code right inside one lid for when you need them. It's been pretty handy all around. Last thought, not a complaint because they're a good size for my household, but be aware the individual containers aren't huge.

So far I am loving this garbage can as it’s very functional and has freed up a lot of space under my sink where I used to keep recyclables, but there are a few small things that could be improved. Here are the main takeaways for me:

Pros:
1. Sleek design, easy to clean stainless steel
2. Removable inner bins for easy cleaning & takeout
3. Soft close lids
4. Decent sized bins (at least for our family’s needs— we compost so not much organic material goes into our trash)
5. Bonus pocket inside the lid for scent control inserts (I think? We put dryer sheets in them!)

Cons:
1. Normal trash bags work, but don’t fit quite right— they’re just barely tall enough to not slip off the bin’s edges, but they are not used to their full capacity since the bin is narrow. It’s also tough to wrap/tie the bag just right around the top of the bins so that they can still rest perfectly inside the can (if the bag is bunched up at one spot then the bin doesn’t sit right in the can and the lid doesn’t close all the way).
2. No way to manually open the lid (from the top) while it’s closed— our kitchen is small and when our dishwasher is open, we can’t access the trash can pedals and need to open it from the top (which we can’t). I’m going to try and make some sort of pull tab out of duct tape.
3. For the lids to remain open (ie. cleaning out the fridge and throwing many items away), we have to pull the can away from the wall so that the lids can lean backwards to stay propped open. Really not a big deal but worth mentioning if you have a tight space.

Tried this out because I wanted to save a couple bucks rather than buying from a bigger brand that’s slightly more expensive and that I knew you had to buy their bags.
I assumed this SimpliMagic allowed you to put in regular garbage bags since there is no specific bag code like the other bins out there. However, immediately I noticed that regular trash bags bunch up, fall down, or just don’t stay.
Some people have mentioned not using a bag at all which is guess is fine for the recyclables side (make sure to rinse and dry glass and cans well) but it wouldn’t do this for the side with regular trash. Sure, the insert bin pulls out but layers of rotting caked up food in the nooks and crannies of that thing is a no-go for me.

Lastly, the design is just kind of weird. It mentions a feature for the lid to stay open. I feel like the quality of the lid opening is then messed up because I did that once and now my lid doesn’t open all the way. Also, it often takes multiple times to get the insert to slide into the correct position for the lids to close.

Alas, it’s just a trash bin but it’s a real bummer for the price point that it doesn’t do any of the things that I paid for it to do. If I’d known this, I would have paid more money to buy the original bin that it’s ripping off.

The media could not be loaded. Looks like a great set for trash and recyclables on each side, but you can’t keep it against the wall because then the lids hit the wall violently. This is a quality product, which is built well, easy to move, clean, and was a great price. The lid closes very quietly and is a great fit in our home. The trash and recyclables containers are easy to remove and replace.

to seamlessly accomplish this task.

There are two holes in each bin. One at the top and the other at the bottom. The bags should be pulled through. The top from the outside
while giving it a few twists, and the bottom pushed out from the inside. When pulled in concert with each other, they will all allow the bags to have a perfect fit allowing the bins lids to close securely. And lastly, the added charcoal or fragrance compartment to combat odor is a bonus. The bin was adequately packaged for shipment and arrive flawlessly. Any developed problems I will do an up date. I love, love it.

One minor flaw. Simpli-Magic did not need to place their large company logo on each lid. It is my intention to cover them with a “TRASH & RECYCLE” stickers. This, however, does not take away from its beauty and functionality. Fingerprint resistant is questionable.

Superb. What I expected. Keeps the smell contained inside. It is pretty big though for my small kitchen.

Great small size and well made

It has a dent in the back, but that’s because Amazon probably threw this package cause I had a hole in the package, but yeah it’s in the back so I’m not gonna worry about the dent but it’s a nice trashcan. It’s worth the price now. I gotta keep this puppy clean. God bless everybody And if you’re an Amazon worker, don’t throw the packages.
