Save some money by slicing your own meats at home

If you enjoy charcuterie, sandwiches, or just like everything evenly sliced, then you are in luck. Surprisingly, there are a lot more uses for an electric slicer than you would initially think, and it can save you some money as you can buy in bulk and slice things yourself.

Overall, the slicer is pretty well-made. Most of the stainless steel is in the blades and some support, while the rest is plastic, but it still seems pretty durable. The fact that it comes with two blades, one serrated and the other straight edge, is a nice option and allows you to adjust the blades to what you are cutting. I find it amusing that there isn't a tool included to help loosen and tighten the blades, and the instructions suggest you to use something like a quarter to turn the bolt. I guess that works, but including a simple tool to do this would have come across as a lot more professional and thought out.

When cutting items, I did find that more dense items tended to bog the blade down a bit, and you could hear the unit struggle to get through, so there is a bit of a power question on this, and after prolonged use, I would worry about the durability of the motor. However, it did slice everything I put through it in nice even slices.

The width of the cuts is easy to adjust with the dial on the back. I also really like that there is a tray that clicks into the bottom to collect everything you put through it. It helps keep everything organized and clean. And on the note of cleanliness, they mention this unit is easy to clean, but I'm not sure I would agree. First off, there really isn't a collection for the juices and small bits of meat as you use it. They just tend to fall in between the cutting surface and the back plate. I ended up with juices running all over my counter as they ran down the inside of the machine and down its legs. Cleaning consists of scraping all the bits out of the cracks as best you can and hoping you get it all. It's much easier to open up the dial to the widest cut to do this, but I definitely feel this could be designed better.

Overall though, I'm happy with this unit. It has done everything I have asked of it, and all the slices have come out clean and even. The motor power is a question, so if you plan on using this a lot, I would take that into consideration. Also, I have no clue why they have a pulse option for cutting. You need two hands to cut items safely, so making a switch that requires one of your hands to hold down while you cut doesn't make the most sense. Maybe I'm just missing something, but either way, I don't see myself using that feature much.

    WHAT I LIKED:
    • Multiple blades
    • Easy to adjust the cutting width
    • Well-made
    • Built-in tray for collecting cuts

    WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
    • Motor seems a bit underpowered
    • No tool included to change blades
    • Not that easy to clean actually

    Good slicer

The media could not be loaded. I already had a deli slicer that I use fairly often. I find that I save money on cold cuts for sandwiches by buying whole hams and whole salamis and slicing them up at home or slicing up cold roast beef for sandwiches. What's nice about this deli slicer is that it's all metal which I think is better than plastic because plastic is more likely to harbor bacteria.

The switch has a toggle that one side is off but on as long as you hold it down and the other side is continuous on. The carriage snaps into place. This was a bit fiddly the first time I tried to snap into place until I got the hang of it. Comes with two blades, serrated and smooth. It's nice to have this option depending on the type of food you are slicing. The blade turns a little slower than I'm used to on my old machine but it cut things very well just the same. A nice feature is that the dial for thickness is numbered where my old machine was not. That makes it easier to set to the same thickness each time you use it.

Cleaning was fairly easy. The manual has instructions for assembly/disassembly with lots of warnings about how sharp the blade is. And it is! so be careful. There is a cardboard sleeve to house the extra blade. I would have preferred a plastic container for the extra blade as cardboard doesn't last long over the long term. After slicing there was a lot of bits in crevice between the upright portion and the bed which the carriage snaps into. Simply turn the dial for the widest setting and there's plenty of room to get in there with a cloth to clean it out. No other cracks or crevices that would hinder cleaning. Everything washed up nicely.

Another nice feature on this deli slicer that is new to me is having a catch tray for the sliced food. It slips underneath and snaps into place. As you slice, the food goes into the tray which makes it simple to pick up the tray when done and take it to the table to package things up.

The only thing I had a slight issue with is the balance of the machine. Because it's tilted to one side with the weight being at the top, it feels a little tippy and you have to mind that as you slice. There are suction cups on the feet which, when you put it on a smooth surface grips really well and eliminates the tippy feeling. However my counters are wood and so the suction cups don't factor in. Hence I need to be mindful of most of the weight being on one side of the machine and slanted. Not so much that it's hard to work, just need to be careful as I'm slicing. It's still an improvement over my old deli slicer which is plastic and hard to clean. It's also a little bigger than my machine as it resembles a professional slicer but not quite as large as the ones in the deli. Still, it's bigger than my old one so need to find different spot in my kitchen to keep it stored when not in use.

Overall though, I found it easy to use and it did a great job of thinly slicing ham, hard salami with peppercorn crust, and a polish sausage ring.

    Amazing product!!

Such good quality for the price. Allows super thin and thick cuts of all meats and cheeses and probably more. I would buy again! In-laws are jealous now as they have an older version and this one is much much better.

    Good quality

The meat slicer works really well. It is fairly big (40.7L x 22.6W x 28H centimetres). There is a protective guard for your hand that you push against the meat so you don't hurt yourself. You can adjust the blade from a very thin cut to 3/4 inches. There are two stainless steel blades with one serrated and the other one not serrated. We have used it for deli meat mostly. It says you can use it for fruit, vegetables and brad but I didn't try these. We by the big one and slice it ourselves. It seems to stay fresher. There is a collection tray underneath. It works really well and is good quality. It is fairly easy to clean.

Does the job but difficult to clean

    The Good:
    -Many thickness settings
-Effectively cuts most things (especially if you follow recommendations on freezing)
    -Multiple blades
    -Effective food tray
    -Most parts survive the dishwasher
    The OK:
-Suction feet (get in the way a lot when cleaning/storing but do hold the machine in place)
-Slow rotation speed (vastly slower than pro models, don’t know if this really matters or not)
-Inconsistent slicing towards end of object (normal for most machines)
-Many parts come coated in silica gel (is some work to clean off)
-Screw on blade replacement (a tool-less locking option would have been way easier)
    The Bad:
-No onboard blade storage (can be real problem trying to find a good place for a circular blade)
-Machine base has many crevices that are difficult to clean (this is a huge issue when it comes to hygiene, they could have designed it so more pieces could be removed and washed in the dishwasher)

Long desired to try a meat slicer and compare it to my top-of-the-line food processor with similar functions. It’s built well OK with many metal parts and the removable pieces seem to survive the dishwasher just fine. Comes with 2 blades for meats and softer items/vegetables, they both are sharp enough to get the job done but not like razors so you don’t cut yourself too easily. Machine lacks onboard blade storage which can be a huge issue when it comes to finding a place for a second circular blade. There is a silica gel coating on some parts that requires some scrubbing with dish soap to remove and is very sticky. Has many slice thickness settings and they are very consistent until near the end of an item which can result in some waste compared to other methods. Blade rotation speed is very slow but seems to cut through everything I tested it on. Suction feet keep the machine in place but stick to counters when you’re cleaning the machine and make removal from storage difficult in many situations. The absolute worst quality of the machine is the base design, it’s incredibly difficult to clean effectively and anything you’re slicing meat on needs to be cleaned thoroughly. They easily could have designed it with more removable parts and solved this issue. Overall, it’s a functional piece of equipment and at the right price might be worth it but I feel there are better options for achieving thin slices of most items.

    Effortless Precision Slicing

The CUSIMAX Electric Meat Slicer is a must-have addition for any home kitchen, offering exceptional quality, ease of use, and versatile functionality. This slicer, equipped with double 9" stainless steel blades, stands out with its professional-grade performance at a home-friendly price. Whether slicing deli meats, cheeses, vegetables, or bread, it delivers uniform, precise cuts, making food prep faster and more enjoyable.

Right out of the box, setting up the CUSIMAX meat slicer is impressively straightforward. It requires minimal assembly, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Within minutes, I had it up and running. The removable food carriage makes loading and unloading a breeze, and I particularly appreciate that it's designed to be easy to clean. The removable parts, such as the food tray and carriage, can be detached effortlessly, which eliminates the hassle that often comes with cleaning similar machines. A quick wipe-down of the blades and base keeps it looking pristine, and I’ve found that regular maintenance ensures long-lasting, reliable operation.

One of the standout features of this slicer is the adjustable thickness control. With the ability to set slice thickness from 1 to 20mm, it gives you full control over how thick or thin you want your cuts. Whether you're preparing ultra-thin slices for charcuterie boards or thicker cuts for sandwiches, the slicer delivers consistent, precise results every time. The dual 9" stainless steel blades are sharp and durable, cutting through various types of food with ease. One blade is serrated for tougher slicing jobs, while the smooth blade is perfect for softer items like deli meats and cheeses.

In terms of performance, the CUSIMAX slicer is surprisingly powerful for a home appliance. Its motor operates smoothly without generating excessive noise, and the machine remains stable even during longer slicing sessions. It’s a delight to use, allowing me to slice large quantities of food quickly and efficiently. The built-in safety features, including non-slip feet and a safety guard, offer added peace of mind when operating the machine.

Another advantage is the compact, sleek design. Despite its robust capabilities, it doesn’t take up too much counter space, and its modern silver finish blends well with most kitchen decors. When not in use, it's easy to store away, although I find myself using it so often that it has become a permanent fixture in my kitchen setup.

Overall, the CUSIMAX Electric Meat Slicer is a high-quality, user-friendly tool that delivers professional-grade slicing at home. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys preparing fresh deli-style meats and cheeses or wants to save money by slicing their own food at home. Easy to use, easy to clean, and incredibly versatile, this meat slicer is a valuable addition to any kitchen.

    Great for sandwich meat

If you are anything like me, sandwiches are a lunchtime staple. With the growing cost of sandwich meat in the grocery store, we decided to give slicing out own meat a shot. This lead to us having around 5x the amount of turkey for the same price. That’s all thanks to this meat slicer. This meat slicer was extremely easy to set up, pretty much put together straight out of the box. The first thing that I noticed about this meat slicer was that the feet stuck to the counter HARD, which was great. The blade spins at a fairly low speed, which was nice because I wasn’t as worried about it spinning too fast and shifting around. It cut through our turkey with no issue. I did notice that the tray that the meat lands in fills up fairly quickly, but that could have been because of the shape of the turkey breast we were cutting. The only difficult part of operating this slicer is the cleanup. I noticed a lot of bits of meat ended up caught in the crevices between the blade and the base. It wasn’t hard to clean, just a bit tedious. Overall, I highly recommend this meat slicer if you are looking to start slicing your own meat at home.
