Easy to use and very sharp lookingThis is the perfect can for garbage and recycling. It is compact and fits into my kitchen space perfectly. I also like the sleekness of the stainless steel as it matches the rest of my appliances.
The real bonus is my lab cannot push up on the lid to pull out the trash as the lid is flush with the top. The foot release for the lid also solves this problem.

PerfectThis is exactly what we needed. It works really well, it’s attractive enough to sit out where it can be seen, and it’s sturdy & well made. It makes it so convenient to recycle without having to go all the way to the outside can every time, or have something sitting out until you can get around to it. (I bought the recycle/trash magnets separately, well worth it)

The plastic inserts VERY BRITTLE PLASTIC. accidentally bumped/dropped entire corner fractured offThis can works very well. Many pros&cons. Pros: looks very nice and neat. The lid functions well. Garbage capacity will holds a weeks amount of garbage for household of 2 plus 1 dog. Recycle receptacle must be emptied every 2or3 days. The 2 receptacles pull out easily. The lid closes tightly, alleviates all garbage odor. Cons: Takes a few tries to “seat” inserts properly, so lid closes. Garbage bags slide up when placing into can. The plastic bin itself, is extremely brittle, accidentally bumped/dropped the black bin, and corner of bin fractured off. Cannot find a replacement. No number for support.

Very beautiful and and seems well madeI was torn as to whether or not I should have purchased this Simpli-Magic trash can. Well, so far I am glad I did. Can you actually be in love with a garbage can? Well I am. This beauty, with its dual functionality is a gem. The size is perfect for my average size one bedroom NYC
apt. Many people were complaining about the installation of the bags. Many do not know how
to seamlessly accomplish this task.
There are two holes in each bin. One at the top and the other at the bottom. The bags should be pulled through. The top from the outside
while giving it a few twists, and the bottom pushed out from the inside. When pulled in concert with each other, they will all allow the bags to have a perfect fit allowing the bins lids to close securely. And lastly, the added charcoal or fragrance compartment to combat odor is a bonus. The bin was adequately packaged for shipment and arrive flawlessly. Any developed problems I will do an up date. I love, love it.
One minor flaw. Simpli-Magic did not need to place their large company logo on each lid. It is my intention to cover them with a “TRASH & RECYCLE” stickers. This, however, does not take away from its beauty and functionality. Fingerprint resistant is questionable.

Great Concept, But Bagging IssuesThe Simple-Magic dual compartment recycling trash can offers a convenient solution for separating recyclables from regular waste, making it a step towards a more eco-conscious household. There are definitely some strong points to this product, but a significant flaw holds it back.
First and foremost, the dual compartments are a game-changer. It's a straightforward way to encourage recycling habits and keep things organized. The size is just right, providing ample capacity for both types of waste without taking up too much space in the kitchen.
However, there's a notable drawback that's hard to overlook. The design seems to overlook the practicality of fitting a trash bag properly. It's frustrating to find that, despite the right size and shape, it's nearly impossible to get a bag to sit snugly without compromising the closure of the lid or risking the bag slipping inside. This oversight is a significant inconvenience for an otherwise promising product.
In order to make this trash can truly functional, the manufacturer needs to address this bagging issue. Once that's resolved, the Simple-Magic dual compartment recycling trash can will undoubtedly be a top contender in the world of recycling bins. Until then, it falls just short of its potential.

Love itI love this product! I keep purchasing different trash bins because my curious 18-month-old can open all the others. This one is a winner. It has the perfect size; it forces me to take out the trash every day, helps me keep all the recycling intact, and my toddler can’t open it, which is exactly why I bought it.

Nice dual trashcan but doesn’t hold much.This looks very sleek. I like how the bins have separate lids and steps so you don’t have to open both sides at once. It doesn’t hold as much as I expected and I’m using more trash bags/taking out my trash more than I used but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It said it was about the same number of gallons as my old can but I think the bins are actually smaller on the inside.
The main thing I don’t love is that if the new bag isn’t pulled tight enough the excess plastic can block the lid hinge and the can won't close all the way. I have to take it out and redo it to make sure it’s not sticking up, which is kind of annoying but whatever.
Also don’t love that the company logo is pretty big and stenciled right on the top of both lids. I tried to scrape it off but it’s not a sticker and I don’t want to damage the stainless steel. Sigh. Just looks kind of obnoxious!
